Booth

Our first Art Show was a great success and a lot of fun!  My husband and I shared a booth, showing both his photos and my needlework.

The booth, shown here on the second day, was greatly enhanced by the wire racks and display stands I borrowed from a friend.

The combination of needlework and photography was fabulous in that many people came to the booth looking primarily at one or the other, but invariably looked at both.  The inclusion of a slideshow on my iPad also was a great draw.

Fall Show

We are less than 2 weeks away from our very first show.  As a member of the newly formed Niles Canyon Artisans, our first show is scheduled for the weekend of November 17 and 18th from 11-5 each day.  It has been very exciting to see weekly progress as we put together our advertising materials, developed a logo thanks to the fabulous artwork of Connie DeGrange and layout by Conover Smith, booked the space, worked out a layout and recruited artists and artisans.

I have also been busy getting my own business in order.  I have new business cards with matching bag labels.  I have also borrowed some racks and display stands from Sandi Bohner, owner of Little Valley Winery and Lavender.  And of course, I have been busy making pieces to sell, taking photos and creating a website.  Nothing like a looming deadline to get you moving!

I am particularly pleased that my husband, Derek Johnson, will be sharing booth space with me and displaying his photographs.

The show promises to be a lot of fun.  We have attracted some very impressive artists working in many different media.  There is truly something for everyone!
